South Carolina Water Utilities President Craig Sorensen was named to the State of South Carolina’s WaterSC Working Group, a committee established by Governor Henry McMaster to help shape public policy involving our state’s most valuable natural resource:Â water.
This group is tasked with defining economic, social, and environmentally friendly approaches to water management. Governor Henry McMaster created WaterSC with Executive Order No. 2024-22 in September 2024. He intends for WaterSC to “collaboratively guide policy and planning for our state’s water resources.”
In her letter to invite Sorensen to participate, Department of Environmental Services Interim Director Myra Reece said, “The road to success for WaterSC begins with an engaged, well-qualified team who agree to work together to ensure the reliability, resiliency, sustainability, and sufficiency of the State’s water resources.”
Sorensen is honored to serve in this role and bring his lifetime of experience in water and wastewater service. He will be the voice for our customers and private, regulated water utilities.Â
