Sugar Land, TX. – (February 25, 2026) – Nexus Water Group, Inc. (“Nexus Water”) today, February 25, 2026, announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for the sale of Nexus Water’s operations and assets in Nevada and Oregon. California Water Service Group will purchase the water and wastewater systems which serve approximately 36,000 equivalent residential connections.
Nexus Water President and CEO Rob MacLean said, “Nexus Water is committed to driving value through our long-term strategy. With this additional divestment, we are right sized and strategically positioned for continued growth.”
Included in Nexus Water’s long-term strategy is the sale of operations and assets in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia to American Water. That transaction was announced last year.
MacLean said, “We look forward to sharpening our focus where we lead the market and can build on our competitive edge in the water and wastewater industry.”
California Water Service Group has agreed to offer employment to the approximately 56 Nexus Water employees who operate the Nevada and Oregon systems. Until the transaction closes, Nexus Water will continue business as usual and operations to maintain the local systems.
MacLean said, “Our local teams bring the specialized knowledge and operational experience needed to deliver excellent service. They take pride in the work they do and in supporting their local communities.”
“We are pleased to expand our footprint into Nevada and Oregon, and we look forward to welcoming the dedicated local teams who are making a difference in the lives of their customers and communities,” said California Water Service Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Martin A. Kropelnicki. “It’s been a pleasure working with the professionals at Nexus on this transaction and we look forward to closing the deal later this year,” he said.
Both companies are committed to working together to ensure the transition is seamless for employees and customers. The closing is expected to take place by the end of 2026, following the required regulatory approvals.
